Things will start changing the moment you are 18 weeks pregnant. This is actually the turning point of your pregnancy period as you will be required to adjust some of your normal habits. An antenatal check should be on your schedule for next few weeks. If you are expecting twins, your doctor will carry out a scan for each of the baby’s anatomy in one appointment.  During this week, they will measure your fetus to make sure your baby is healthy and of the correct size.

  • The sense of hearing becomes more accurate
  • The baby starts to kick and react to loud sounds
  • At 5.6 inches in length and 6.7 ounces of weight, baby’s growth rate will slow down during this week
  • The baby is very active – makes movements such as kicks, bending of the arms etc
  • If the baby is a girl, the uterus and fallopian tubes will form during this week and move into their respective positions
